Here is another comedy combo with Cary Grant and Myrna Loy in the 1948 film, “Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House.” The young married couple with two kids decide their small apartment in the city is just too small, so they move out to the country, buying an old fixer-upper house, that must be demolished instead.
For anyone building a home, or thinking to build a home, or anyone who has memories of building a home, this is a classic film of what can go wrong, and right.
Plus there is this little romantic edge with their attorney, Bill who we find out was Mrs. Blandings old boyfriend, who never married (couldn’t find a gal as great as Myrna.)
