In the telestial kingdom, not all animals live side by side.
Or should I say, that the wolf and the lamb do not lie down together, nor is it a good idea for your child to play on the hole of an asp or put his hand in the cockatrice’s den.
The Dog almost got eaten by two coyotes on her morning walk.
Gene, pack leader that he is, had no leash, but managed to fight off the daring aggressive coyotes with a stick and a rock, and yelling at our german shepherd at the top of his lungs to return. Now he will probably use the e-collar that I am so fond of, and use so diligently–the one he thinks he does not need. I am just glad that the loss of the dog was not involved in this reminder of life outside of the garden. These were aggressive coyotes, that followed them right out on to the park grass, initiating an attack.
The Cat almost got eaten by the dog.
Not my dog, but a dog. Brigham and Michelle have a little white cat, let’s call her “white kitty” for want of a name. (yes, Brigham had two cats growing up–yellow kitty and beige kitty and the inability to name a pet is a deep seated disability in our family). The dog seemed to tackle white kitty, and she escaped by scrambling up a tree to safety.
The Fish almost got eaten by the Cat.
Yes, White Kitty almost had a late night fish snack. Rach has one of those bottom dwellers– fish that sit in a tiny bowl. Since she is in California, she left “blue fish” with Brig and Michelle. In the wee hours of the morning, they hear a crash, and find that little white kitty has pushed the fish bowl off the top of the fridge and it has crashed to the ground. No sight of blue fish. Brig rummages around for a flashlight, actually goes out to his truck to get one, pulls out the fridge and finds blue fish laying there–still alive. Almost five minutes later.
As I thought over the weeks animal prey activity, I wondered who would be after the coyote–
I relate this story to one of my boys, “blonde boy” and he tells me that he went coyote hunting last week. Hmmm….now that is interesting. I hope this goes no further in the food prey chain.
End Post Note:
But during the millennial era–
The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den. (Isaiah 11:6-8)
