The pandemic election year of 2020, and I listened to some great books to escape the stress. I enjoyed all of these, but I found myself going back to a few of the Bill Bryson books because I loved his humor — I actually laughed out loud. Plus, he has some great research on all of his topics. I learned so many new things.

I have audible.com on my iPhone and a nice pair of earbuds, so I listen when I hike the trails or organize the garage, or can’t fall asleep. My husband enjoyed A Gentleman in Moscow, and we both marveled  about Hitler (Blitzed.) It was my second listening to Polio since I wanted to re-hear the whole vaccine fiasco.

My mom got started on a few of the Bill Bryson books, and she found some great comic relief while stuck at home with no visitors.

Honeybees, earthquakes, and science are only a few of my interests, and the books on those subjects were interesting. My most recent download is Brandon Sanderson’s fourth book in his Stormlight series, Rhythm of War, and I have only started that one. My husband just finished it.

History, science, sci-fi, and humor. Oh yea, the book with the “F” word — well, it was good too. I just had to realize the author’s language was part of his way. His message was good. And it helped me get over a few things bugging me.
